What information may be collected
If you submit a message, the site may collect your message text, your name or initials, your location if you choose to provide it, and technical information needed to operate and protect the site.
If you choose to subscribe for updates, the site may also collect your email address.
Why it is used
Submitted messages are used to publish and curate the public archive, operate and protect the site, review abusive or bad- faith submissions, respond to removal requests, and, where relevant, communicate meaningful project updates to people who choose to subscribe.
Messages may be displayed publicly on the website and may also be shared publicly as part of the project, including on social media or in media coverage.
Legal basis and retention
Messages and related project data are processed on the basis of the project's legitimate interest in operating a public tribute archive and, where applicable, on the basis of your consent when you choose to submit a message or subscribe for updates.
Messages may remain part of the archive unless removal is requested or moderation requires otherwise. Update emails may be kept until you ask to be removed.
